William Gaddis (New York, 29 dicembre 1922 – 16 dicembre 1998) è stato uno scrittore statunitense.
Autore di diversi romanzi, con due di questi è stato vincitore del National Book Award. Fra le sue opere si ricordano Le perizie (The Recognitions) (1955), JR (1975), Gotico americano (Carpenter's Gothic) (1985), A Frolic of His Own (1994), e pubblicati postumi nel 2002 Agapē Agape e The Rush for Second Place.
